I like many Roman Catholics feel very blessed to have our Saints of our church.
We are charged by God and the Holy Spirit to try and become Saints ourselves..
I really got to know about Padre Pio through my mother in law and by a friend. My friend lived in Italy and knew then Padre Pio. She went to confession with him. My friend was a healing minister for the Boston archdiocese.
So, I remember him and ask him to advocate for my healing as well.

Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have
You present so that I do not forget You.
You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak
and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.

and without You, I am without fervor.

Dear God, You generously blessed Your servant,
St. Pio of Pietrelcina,
with the gifts of the Spirit.
You marked his body with the five wounds
of Christ Crucified, as a powerful witness
to the saving Passion and Death of Your Son.
Endowed with the gift of discernment,
St. Pio labored endlessly in the confessional
for the salvation of souls.
With reverence and intense devotion
in the celebration of Mass,
