I have dreamed of running. Blue Skies :)

I have had many dreams but one that has been reoccurring is I dream of running. I was at physical therapy today and was sharing out of the clear blue that I have been remembering in my dreams all the running I did as a kid and young adult. I can remember running, jogging at a young age and doing aerobics. Running up stairs taking 2 or 3 steps at a time.

I have lofty expectations of where I need to go and where God is leading me.

My therapy is taking my body slowly but surely to a place I hunger to get to. I want to get to and I need to get to. There is a horizon ahead that is just out of sight that I need to reach.

Fly like an eagle Steve Miller band

I see it in my minds eye so, with the grace of God I will fight my way to reach that goal and vision.

It feels good to be out and about in the car and very shortly I will be able to walk outside and build muscle, burn calories expand my lung compacity, and build my stamina and endurance. I find now that the energy to get to the car and to do a short errand leaves me exhausted.

So, I have every intention when the snow and ice are gone to walk the track.I feel that the only way to build up my strength in my estimation is to PUSH. I need to force my body to rise to the occasion. I am healthy aside from my recovery from a cancer that I have never accepted or owned. I yearn to be out of breath, to feel my heart beating and feel my lungs expand with the air that surrounds me. I have decided that this time around my 2nd chance at life that I will put myself into the equation of my life and show my family that we can love and do for others but we also need to do for ourselves too. Our bodies, minds, souls and lives are sacred to God. We are wonderfully made. Amen.

Nothing but blue skies do I see ! 🙂

So if I can say one thing today I will say this, be positive, laugh, and believe that yes, tough times happen in our lives but expect and trust that God’s always got bigger and better things coming along the road of life that we need.

It may take me a very long while perhaps to achieve or even approach my goal but that is just the journey that I have to face just as you have to face yours too.

We are all on an amazing life journey experiencing and growing along the way. My wish for you and I is this, TO look at each day and THINK…….

God Bless You,
Danny

Well today was my first day with the ability to just go so I had a really excellent adventure this morning.

I sprang out of bed with a song in my heart as my mom used to say. And the song in my mind was freedom. I dropped my daughter at her job, and then headed to my dad’s house to surprise him. He was surprised and thankfully was happy to see me.LOL MY DAD is 87 and was changing his window treatments to freshen them up. He is such an amazing man. So kind. But strong. A Marine through and through. Love, love, love him.

From there I headed home and thought to myself I am going to the chapel for adoration and to pray. So you were all prayed for your needs.

So don’t be thinking that nothing good happened to you today, because you all received the gift of prayers. 🙂

I left the chapel and as I walked down the walkway all by my onesies I said to my self dang my old geloppy is looking rather sloppy. Lol. So, off I went to the car wash and when I got there I was sitting in my car and the young man approached my car and I told him I wanted the basic wash. In two seconds I found out his mom has brain cancer. So, I gave him this blog address on my card and he looked astonished. I just said have your mom just take a look. I said make sure you tell your mom that God’s in control. He smiled. My car looks clean all the dents and scratches are easier to see now. Lol

I then went to Walgreen for an item and talked to the cashier who said I looked familiar. I knew who she was too. I look different the last time she saw me was a year and a half ago when I walked into the store with my wife on a walker and I was huge from the steroid so I knew why she could not place me. So again I began to witness she was filled with joy and started talking about her handicapped daughter. God is so good.
.

So keep your eyes and heart opened you never know what opportunity you might have to help another person or be helped by them 🙂

Jefferson Starship count on me.

Have a wonderful day!

God Bless You,

Danny

Sorry, the text is so compressed on this particular blog entry . Don’t know why and could not fix it . It always reverts back. Lol
I think it would do us all well to slow down, disconnect from the technologies and spend time in quiet where you can just pray and listen for God’s word, or thought that is for you. Just talk to your Father and tell all. Ask him to give you the Spiritual  gifts that you need now and for the future. Your prayer partner The Holy Spirit will aide in this process. A better friend you cannot find 🙂 Because he knows all the good , bad and the ugly that resides in you and me too. 🙂
The following … is written by , Margaret Fishback Powers.
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

You know I was thinking recently about all the things that can zap the joy out of life. In responding to emails and a call from my friend that I wrote about yesterday I was like Jeeez. Lighten up people. We  are taking stuff way to seriously. 🙂

This morning I decided as part of my Lenten journey that I was going to revisit things that touched my heart because they touched my loved ones hearts too they who have now passed. They made me who I am today. They are alive and well in my heart and watch over myself and family constantly . So, today I will bring the past to life even for just a moment and rejoice in the joy that they gave me even til this moment. Hopefully you will enjoy these songs and moments too.

In life we need to excentuate the positive.

I began this writing on Wednesday.

I was just sitting here reflecting on my day and thinking wow today  is the beginning of Lent. It is Ash Wednesday. 🙂

So , I will begin to focus on a new change once again on my aproach to my prayer life. I had instituted a concerted effort for Advent that was beneficial so now I need a fresh new plan.

Lent

Is  preceding Easter that in the Christian Church is devoted to fasting, abstinence, and penitence in commemoration of Christ’s fasting in the wilderness. In the Western Church it runs from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday and so includes 40 weekdays.

How true are these words,  The importance of one person. In the Lenten Season we look to Jesus as our guide to what’s truthful and right.

But remember he looks upon us in a similar way during our life’s journey. We are all important to each other. Do we really appreciate that fact? We also need to support our neighbors.

We really should appreciate others. Each person that I have met during my life  I could see their goodness ever if they have made mistakes. Sometimes we need to get a little further down the road in our lives to look into the rear view mirror to see their true value to us.

The next teaching is so beautiful.

You know, one of the most important thing That I do weakly is to get to church. I love my parish family and we help oneanother simply by being present. I try to attend the same mass as much as possible because I want to see those who share their  life journeys with me as I share mine with them. They make my week complete.

Back around 12 years ago I was listening  to Father Martin H. from St. Basils give a talk at the center in Methuen.

He is a  Holy and  good man who is brilliant in his perception of life  and his ability to  deliver a message of love to his flock.

People were going to his mass and not to their own parishes. He said I love to see you all here but you need to be present in your own communities as well. He went on further to say God has you there for a reason. You are called to be Christ there as well. And, he was 100 percent right. Fathers church is packed at the center for Monday night liturgy. But we need to be present on the weekends if not daily to be part of our own parish communities. We are the salt and the light.

If we are not there who will be. A community needs dedicated members to lift each other up. Life is beautiful but it is a challenge nonetheless.

How we should all live………

AND,

Witness God, every moment, you never know who’s watching or Who God may save. 🙂 Amen.

I have  had  alot of great witnesses in my life. Bricks in my foundation. Thats why I believe in Faith, God and Miracles….

And, Here I sit in this moment. Amen.

Not because of who I am! but Because Of Who He Is. Amen !!!!!!

What a God given gift Fr. Leo Clifford was to this world. And continues to be even after his death. Amen.

Before you view this short but beautiful video I want you to watch it with a very important fact in the forefront of your mind.

I had never seen this teaching before but as God would have it, it came to my attention while I was on YouTube. The timing was only possible because God wanted it.

Father Leo Clifford was a brilliant and Holy man of God.

This video is a synopsis of all of the things on my blog, God’s calling for us, our need of Faith beyond our world , our willingness to say yes. He also calls us to relationship with him for our own needs but also for others. As Father said we need to work on our own personal symphonies , where our God given talents that were given to each one of us is perfected and we can then share the fruits of them  with others in order to  bring the world back to God. AMEN.

This striking message that is pulled together on this video below confirms for us all that God is real, his love for us is real and reaffirms the fact that we have a higher purpose beyond ourselves. Again,  after watching this video I reached again a little bit of a higher understanding about my life and its intrinsic value to the world and to God.

Something clicked into place for me a new reality that I now own.

With all the snow and the long weekend I came upon this fascinating special that was on P.B.S. Nova show. The technology that was used back in the Roman empire  was incredible. It was a time of horrific blood shed as well.

What some people have done to others over the history of the world is so Evil. We need to be mindful of the past or it can and will repeat itself.

I found other related things to vue as well. Its eye opening for sure.

Christian Persecution

History, Facts and Information about Christian Persecution
The content of this article provides interesting history, facts and information about life in Ancient Rome including Christian Persecution by the Romans. Many early Christians were persecuted due to the edicts of various Roman Emperors. Many of the early Christians were tortured and sentenced to terrible deaths, some of which took place in the Colosseum. The most notorious persecutor of the early Christians was Emperor Diocletian (r.284-305). For information about these terrible persecutions click the following link:

Persecution of Christians

Christian Persecution
Christians were expected to take part in rituals and sacrifices to the pagan gods and goddesses of the Romans. Many Christians went into hiding to avoid the order and converting to Christianity during this period was highly dangerous of Christian Persecution. Statues or idols of gods and goddesses were erected at the corners of the streets, in the market-places and over the public fountains making it impossible for a Christian to go out without being put to the test of offering sacrifice. To refuse would mean torture and death under the Edict of Diocletian and Christian Persecution.

Christian Persecution – The Martyrs who became Saints
Many Christian Martyrs who died during the Christian Persecution were later canonised by the Catholic Church. The history, biography together with descriptions of the lives and deaths of early Christians are detailed in the following recommended website:

Lives and Deaths of Catholic Saints

Persecution of Christian Martyrs
The following men and women were tortured and put to death during the reign of the Emperor Diocletian and his notorious Christian Persecution. Christians were scourged till the flesh parted from the bones, and then the wounds were rubbed with salt and vinegar. Other Christians who were persecuted were racked till their bones were out of joint, and others hung up by their hands to hooks, with weights fastened to their feet. No Roman citizen could be sentenced to crucifixion. Despite being found guilty of the same crime, St. Paul and St. Peter faced different fates. St. Paul was beheaded because he was a Roman Citizen. St. Peter who was not a Roman citizen, was crucified. A short description of the tortures suffered and forms of execution inflicted on saints and martyrs during the Christian Persecution by the Romans are illustrated in the following descriptions:

Christian Persecution – Saint Dorothy
Her family converted to Christianity and her parents were sentenced to death for their convictions. Dorothy was offered leniency if she would renounce Christianity, worship the Roman gods and take a husband. She refused to renounce her faith and was tortured.
