I went to bed last night did my evening prayers and while I laid in bed, I settled into my bed and was very comfortable. I heard the heat thermostat click and the bedroom begin to warm. I had a wonderful day, breakfast, lunch, dinner and even a small piece of cake.( My daughters boyfriends birthday) 🙂

Well, I had a busy night tossing and turning wrestling with my left hand clenching and then releasing. You see I am in the midst of my slow motion Miracle. My left side is healing and my left hand aggravates me to no end. So, I offer the claw up daily in prayer. Lol. You have to laugh at life or you could start to cry. Life can be frustrating. Out of frustration I am learning perseverance.

So anyways, I hopped out of bed at 4:40am I came down to the docking station and turned on the television. It was a little early for my morning prayer and I thought I would just lay there and see what was going on in the news. Well I saw per usual very little good going on and hit the remote button and on came a program that I had never seen.

For the past number of months or so my heart and mind have been drawn to the suffering of my fellow man. Not that I had not been concerned before but it is some how more in the front of my mind.I suspect God has his purpose for this. It’s one of those what can I do moments? I can do what I always do and send a little money. So, I guess this blog would be the only other thing at my disposal in this moment.

While I was sitting there this woman was highlighted in song and her story was high lighted in a program.

I have stated many times on this blog just how Blessed I am in my home. My wife and I have had horrible things hearled our way during this life together but the power of God see’s us through. Do we like it ? Nope. Has it helped us? Yes.

I have an incredible family, from my great grand parents to everyone in my life today. Are they perfect ? Nope. But they are perfect in their imperfection.

They love, they cry, they feel for others, they pray for everyone they are beautiful people. Amen.

I have many friends who are truely like family to us here , they always have been.

You know, when I was diagnosed with the terminal cancer 2.9 years ago or so, We received phone calls left and right for offers of assistance in so many different ways.

One call was to find out if we needed help with insurance and hospital expenses our friends were here for us. They were sincere in their offer too.

We did not want to accept help, we wanted to do as we always had done and manage things on our own. You know, when your younger and starting out and your mom and dad says hey kids I want to try and help you out when they see a need then you are more apt to accept it. My parents did that over the years, they were always the best, my dad is still here and he is my hero. 🙂

But when you receive an offer from friends it is easy to say no. Because we know their lives and expenses etc. I also worked from a position of pride in this situation. I was the master of my ship, I was the fixer, the doer for many. I was not the one who was on the rocks in my mind , but in reality Cancer pushed me up onto them in a profound way ! Denial would not work for me in this situation.

Guess what. I was on the rocks thanks to life. The same friends who offered to help with insurance and medical cost when they found out that our insurance was good thanks to my wifes employer they prayed on it and sent a check to help us anyway. Their was a lovely note saying that they wanted us to pray on their gift and to please accept this offering. You see they are prayerful people as are we. But they are also humans so they knew who I was as a person and how to approach our situation and need. They allowed us our pride in this situation. They explained that God called them to do this. That they were giving part of their….Tithe to us during that time.

to my family to help us along our journey. We held that check for a bit before its deposit. You see, God saw the need and called our friends to respond. They did not do it for fame or bragging rights. They did it because they loved us. They were Jesus to us in that moment and always for that matter. My wife handles the finances now and believe you me she has stretched every penny to its limit and without the assistance from our family, dear friends, and many others almost 3 years ago, I would not be sitting in this home typing this blog right now. The wolves are held at bay. Praise God . Amen! Our families and friends are Miracles to us. I pray that we have been a blessing to others as well. Lord knows, we have tried. 🙂

Thank you dear family, friends and church members. We love you . 🙂

My wife and I know we have a ways to go with my healing and finances and thats fine I am grateful to God that I am still walking my life journey with her and that we are not seperated by death . Amen ! So, I am trying to get act two going. 🙂 lol

You know, I was led to this next little clip and it is beautiful how many times we as youngsters put demands on our parents for something that we had to have.

Well, when I viewed the next link for the first and then for second time and prayed on it I understood the meaning and its importance. That’s why I put it onto this blog. This father based on this story whether true or not, met his sons demand out of love but also answered him with the truth of who owns all and who gives us everything . Things of this world pass away but the word of God and the truth of what God has done for us will never die or fade. The bible holds our keys to Spiritual Victory here on this Earth.God alone fills our void and makes us happy. Amen.

So, this Christmas along with the sweater and shoes give the ones that you love a new bible and write something from your heart in it. It may sit on a table it may make it into the draw I guarantee you one thing on that faithful day now or 30 years from now that book will serve and save the one who is reading it Amen. !

Children in a store.

The caption on this video spoiled children does not fit this video for one reason when I think of even my kids when they were little. They think everything is theirs. They do not understand the boundaries yet. What I saw in this video was a father teaching his son and daughter a valuable life lesson . He did not give in to an embarrassing scene in the store to stop her from crying. He said no.

I remember times in my childhood of being in the store wanting something, I also remember a few of my kids doing this. One laid on the floor so, I said good bye and went around the corner. I watched my child from the angle and my child had no power so down the isle she came running to me. My kids knew that we meant business.

My son played disappearing tricks on my wife and myself while in the store he would want a dinosaur or something we would say no, You do not need that right now. And two seconds later he vanished and the store would go into lock down mode. He would be hiding in a clothing rack. My wife then got a childrens leash, he never got away again. LOL.

Bottom line is this kids learn from their parents. We lead them in behavior, we bring them to the realities of life, that is what is important. We battle against a culture of stuff. Some of my biggest struggles with my kids were the things that their friends had that they wanted. It was a normal thing for them to want them. What seemed abnormal to them is the fact that we would not or could not get it for them.

I always said you know, it’s wonderful that he or she has got that item. Their parent/parents thought that was the right thing to do but we do not feel that we can because of X whatever the reason was. It was very rare for my wife and I to change a decision. On occasion my kids would come and negotiate through conversation, And then they would have to pitch in for it. Kids always have to have skin in the game it builds self worth and confidence. The can do attitude. 🙂 Another thing is all kids think that their parents are rich !

The Jewish celebration of Hanukkah begins at sundown on Dec. 16 and lasts until Dec. 24.

The eight-day celebration, also known as the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication (the word Hanukkah itself means “dedication”) of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem during the time of the Maccabean Revolt against Greek oppressors in 165 B.C.

As part of their rededication ceremony, a group of Jewish leaders known as the Maccabees began an eight-day purification ritual before discovering there was not enough sacred oil to keep the temple’s menorah lit for one day. A miracle occurred and the temple lamp burned for eight days, inspiring the annual commemoration.

When is Hannukah celebrated? The time period for Hannukah is determined by the Hebrew calendar, falling on the 25^th day of Kislev or roughly anytime from late November to late December according to the Gregorian calendar.

What happens during Hannukah? Each night of the celebration is commemorated by the giving of gifts, eating latkes (potato pancakes – you can find out how to make them here) and lighting a nine-armed candelabra known as a menorah. Eight of the candles represent each night the temple oil burned; the ninth is a helper candle, known as Shamash, which is used to light the others. A new candle is placed in the Menorah from right to the left each night and candles are lit from left to right. Three blessings are said during this time with a prayer honoring God as the one who “performed miracles for our ancestors in days of old.”

What else? Like many other holidays, special foods are part of the celebration. Latkes are often joined by apple sauce or sour cream. Fried foods are also served in commemoration of the oil that inspired the first celebration. Other traditional foods include Loukoumades (deep-fried puffs dipped in honey or sugar), pancakes, and Sufganiot, or jelly-filled fried donuts. You can read more about Hanukkah foods here.

What is gelt? Gelt translates to “Hanukkah money” and refers to real money as well as chocolate coins given to Jewish children. The traditional reason for the coins is following the victory of the Maccabees over the Greeks, the Jewish people minted their own currency. The foil-covered gelt is often used as prizes for children playing with a dreidel.

And what’s a dreidel? Dreidels are four sided tops with marking of Hebrew letters (Nun, Gimel, Hei and Shin) on each side. Those letters stand for the Hebrew phrase “Nes Gadol Hayah Sham,” or a “great miracle happened there.” Dreidel involves participants spinning the top and then, based on which letter the top falls on, receiving a certain number of prizes from the pot. The game also gave its name to a song: “Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel/I made it out of clay/And when it’s dry and ready/Dreidel I shall play.”

Is Hanukkah the same as Chanukah?

Yes, there are 16 different spelling variations for the Jewish holiday. The variations come from the lack of a direct translation of the Hebrew word but H is the closest, so sometimes the word is spelled Hanukkah and other times Chanukah. While a major social and culture holiday, Hanukkah is not a Jewish High Holiday.

On The Town.

If it were not for the writings I have done over the past 4-5 years, I would never have been aware of just how much beautiful things that are available on the internet. Movies, video’s etc. The music and scripture that can be gotten is limitless. 🙂 There is an expresssion that I have heard and have come to own over the years. This term is being fed.

The term is used to describe being Spiritually fed. Finding what we need for our spiritual growth. Finding the right church, reading the bible and finding people who are on the same path as you towards God. There are so many ways to be fed!

This is a thought that has crossed my mind as I have written so many of my personal accounts here. I would think to myself , I wonder if people think THAT because of my story that we are part of some supernatural game. I will tell you NO. I have put a lot of prayer time and thought into giving you the best answer that I can to that thought.

We are not a game to God. We are not his play things. The Spirit of God will act in our lives and compell us to do things for the greater good. That is true.

There is also yet another Spirit that resides in this rhelm that is not of God. It too can compell you to do things ,say things and they can be hurtful to yourself and others.

If we were to assume that our God is sitting up in Heaven moving a chess peice (us) around and playing with our lives you would be very wrong. God is love and that’s not what good parents would do to their children. We were born into a once perfect world that is no longer perfect due to sin. So God is helping us through his commandments and by the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I have seen this over my life time when I was younger I would be devestated by these people. As I grew up in Faith and In life I saw them for what they were and stayed away! Although people like that are like heat seeking missiles and want to find you and dump their misery onto you., it makes me feel better to distance myself from them.

Well, Praise God Only ! Thanks to the Cancer that I did not own! God made me bullet proof. I see these people from time to time and nothing is changed with them too much another day of agony I guess. Gloom and Doom serving another master without even realizing it. Forgiveness is not an option because its easier to play victim and not be responsible for anything. Yet they mock people of Faith, any faith and their pride fools them and blinds them to who they are and what they are doing.

Guess What, I keep my distance but I pray for them. I am no better than them , I just know my God. What a great gift I have received.

My son is very much his dads son. I am very blessed. He is very funny, kind and very creative and talented. He has also stepped up so much during the last nearly three years to help out here with things that I cannot do.

He has a heart and loves cute and funny stuff too. My son will come in to see me at my docking station (recliner) and say dad I want to show you something. This happens on a regular basis. Alot of the time it is related to his work and art projects. He is agressive in seeking what he desires and he knows where he wants to be and go. This week D. had more cute stuff that he came up with while with his girlfriend .LOl I thought I would share them with you. They really lifted my spirits. 🙂

This past week he ran in and showed me these five links so I thought I would share them with you as well. They will brighten your day. 🙂

No matter what goes on in my life , the joy that my 5 kids have given me will always supercede the struggles. And, yes my angel in Heaven is one of the 5 that I count. They made and make my life a succeess because of who they are as people. God is very good. Amen. 🙂

Nick is a true messenger of God’s good news. He shows such love and hope. His message should be shared with everyone.

I said to my wife today after I discovered and watched the next link, God what an inspirational life journey he has had. My wife said it is. She then said thats what people say when they see and hear you talk as well. She said I have a strong impact.

I guess I am finally starting to believe what Nick became aware of that we do have stories to tell. It seems that we can help one another out by sharing those stories the good and bad of them. It also gives non believers proof of God.

Humor is so important.

I never saw this video witness before.

He is a Miracle. Just like all of us are.

Listen to this witness of Nick and think of my testimony in the the writings of this blog. Our life stories are different but we both have had adversity. Our feelings are the same on Faith, our parents set us up for Victory and the Spirit of God does not allow us to live the adversity, it chooses Victory. I happen to feel that he is one of the most wonderful witnesses of God that I have ever heard of. Day in and day out he needs to be humble, he needs be patient and needs to trust a whole lot people for so many things. We are all amazing creations of God ! There is nothing you cannot do, just be yourself expect nothing but good and expect happiness. Laugh your way through the tough times too. Always give and share love and hope. Nick and I are huggers. I tell everyone when they reach for my hand… you know I am a hugger :)So we hug when we see eachother. Jesus did . So why wouldn’t I ? 🙂
