I cannot imagine a time in my life that I have ever thought that the world needed to go to our Blessed Mother for comfort and ask her to work as our advocate for our needs and protection more. To bring to her son Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior our prayers and needs to ask him to pour his Mercy out upon us all in this world.

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

I had a very heart wrenching conversation with a very sick Aunt the otherday. She is my god mother actually. We converse by phone when she feels up to it. My aunty has been struggling with lung cancer that has spread. She is tough and is a fighter. She has had one set back after another and the treatment is getting too much for her to handle. She is sick and tired and very angry with life.

Yesterday, I was so happy that she called me because she and I were able to talk about everything in her heart surrounding her illness and in her feeling towards what she felt her illness was doing to her family. Every word she uttered I got, just as every response that I gave she understood. She was suddenly not alone in this crisis.

She like I have said has been suffering from a terminal cancer and has held her chin up to Heaven with constant prayer.

I said you know Aunty, its okay if you are tired, it is okay to continue treatment or not to continue treatment.

You need to pray to God and get peace about this. Sometimes quality of life is more important that quantity. If you are this terribly sick from this new drug treatment then maybe you need to decide if it is worth it.

You see these are very real life circumstances that I too may need to face at some date.

I reassured her that she will know, a peace will come to her surrounding any decision around this matter that she makes. God is with her

God’s got her and us all.

So, Please keep my Aunty J in your prayers.

Remember life can be lived like a tragedy or it can be lived with the assurance that God’s got it and it will be beautiful depite the circumstance.

If God’s got a loving word for another that is stuck on your lips you need to let that love message out. Unleash Love to everyone ! Amen !

I am sitting here today in my chair looking out onto God’s creation and my large beech tree. The sky is milky white, there is a soft breeze moving the huge canopy of gorgeous leaves. The colors of the leaves are deep red, golden yellow and green. The squirrels are on its beaches getting the beech nuts to store for winter.

It is a beautiful thing to behold from where God’s got me in this moment. My wife and I were invited out for dinner last night to a friends home. I did not realise how much my wife and I needed this until I was there. We have been friends praise God for 20 plus years with this couple and they have traveled a similar road as us. They are part of the Cursillo community we lived our retreats at the same time in 1999 and they are very stable in their faith walk with God.

They are busy with work ,children and ageing parents and relatives but you know what, they get it done by God’s grace and are creating beauty not letting life create havoc.

Last night was just what God prescribed for all 4 of us. They are what God called us to be the salt and light to everyone, and they are.

This is just beautiful, This is from a movie worth watching, August Rush. The point is that music has been a gift to us all. It defines periods of our lives many joyful others painful none the less they make us who we are today. We need to look for good positive things for our minds and the Holy Spirit to embrace during our day’s. I find that I need to ask so God, Whats today about ? Then I pray on it. It does not have to be long and aloborate. it just needs to be heartfelt and he will answer.

Like I always say sometimes we need silence but we also need the joy of good music to inspire us and to sooth us.

My Wife and I took my son to see this production in Boston years ago. It was Donny Osmonds last performance. He became racked with fear and could not continue the tour. They said he had a knee injury but years later he admitted that he needed to step away from his career the fear on stage was crippling him.

Again, he is human like us and for him, he was treated and is back on stage and behind the camera.

It was a beautiful story brought to life before our eyes.

My son always remembers that particular event . It was Special memory for us to share and when we hear the songs its lifts the Spirit and heals us . Amen !

As a follow up to the Whitney Houston Post from last week.

We have Elvis Presley another artist that passed too quickly. He was so deeply rooted in his faith and you can see by his demise in later years that drugs and alcohol took a toll on him he was only 42. Sometimes we look at other peoples lives and think the grass is a little greener but the reality is that with much wealth comes much responsibility. And if the wrong people are around because of the available finances they can crash you into the rocks.

Elvis was a very good man and had a tremendous God Given gift.

If you look at the post from Sept 23 it has the videos for Delores Hart who is a nun and was Hollywood’s highest paid Starlet. She gave Elvis his first on screen kiss. On the video links on Sr. Delores Hart say’s that what stayed with her and always will is what a wonderful and innocent man Elvis was.

At a quick look, one would never think that this person would be so accomplished, but God is in everyone of us. And thats why we cannot judge a book by its cover. 🙂

Differing Opinions. Prayer Needed.

Here is an interesting story of a lovely young women who a has terminal brain cancer such as what I was diagnosed with 2.8 years ago. I too had a very short window of life expectancy as well.

My writing today is not to confront her on her choice but rather to try and see where it comes from.I understand that she does not want to suffer, who does?

Okay, after watching this beautiful womens video I think that she is personally a very brave person. I wonder where her faith lies, or if that is part of her life.

Having been in the same seat that she is currently in ,I will say this God ‘s peace and healing was given to me during this time. I am around 2.7 or so years out from my diagnosis day and feel great.

In my case where there is life, there is hope. And when our personal hope for quality of life ends than I will still hope for a beautiful eternal life with Christ.

When I first heard those words inoperable Gleo Blastoma Multiforme grade 4. I was not deterred from doing anything that could potentially safe my life. I said okay lets see what they can do with this, God’s got it.

I got as she mentioned very large from the steriod and had all of the meds,chemo and radiation etc. So, I understand that on a personal level. That pain is not fun.

Suffering :

My faith has tought me that suffering has a purpose, I do not like it either and I am sure Jesus did not relish his crusifiction either. But his sacrafice was for us to learn and to be saved.

I have learned during my journey here and witnessed people on their death beds and what they are dealing with. I have seen the effects on their families too. I have seen families and relationship healed and years of crap was gone. I saw children and families grow in strength through the process and I have seen the ill person, calm as they came closer because they too were healing their minds and souls. They accepted the situation. We all go through it, thats for sure.

What ever sufferings that I have had are brought to the cross and my graces I offer up for others. I will offer up mine for Brittany and family as well.

Her mom mentioned a word autonomous while describing here daughter. The definition is below.

From what I have read and seen on this video, I have to assume that this life holds her treasure. Again, I sincerely mean this, Brittany Morgan has her God given right to do as she believes. It is called free will.

The way I look at this story is this, God wanted me to see this today

because I do not know how Brittany and her family feel about faith and God. It could be that Brittany was never exposed to God, Who really knows. How can we help ? I do have an option as do you .

We need to pray for her and her family. They look like such wondeful people. I know that Gods going to meet her too when her journey is complete. I know God loves her the same as he loves me.

She plans on ending her life next month Nov to end the pain.

So lets pray from healing for Brittany such as I have had in this moment.

Remember healing comes in different forms, physical, psychological, Spiritual and emotional. God knows our needs. We just need to pray.

It is the time of Miracles! Amen

I have mentioned in the past on my posts that we have the gift of the Holy Spirit that resides within us to help us and to guide us during our lives here.

One very important aspect that we have to consider is what we expose our selves to. Our Eyes and ears are under an assault from all that is happening in our world.

The television, shock jocks on the radio, some of the movies and rediculous commercials that are practically x rated. The Launguage, is terrible.

You know, I am no prude.

But alot of what is going on is so immoral.

Over the years and when something would come on that was off color in one way or the other, I would say our kids are around and they should not see this stuff.

People do not realise what they are exposing themselves to. All kinds of spiritual mumbo jumbo and toil.

Back in the day, I use to watch some stuff on tv that my mom and dad would say was nonsence. Shut it off. But, my generation was not parked on a couch with a tv and 400 stations either. Add to this situation now all the different devices that are out there that allow people to stay connected and watch shows anywhere, anytime.

I am far from perfect. But, now I get a visceral responce if someting is on , tv, music, even nonsence talk about others whatever. I am a pro now at dealing with this circumstance, I just get up and seperate myself from that situation.

I do not judge, but this junk is not for me. It doesn’t enhance my mind, spirit or intellect.

If the Holy Spirit that resides in me was not in a place where I did not fill my mind with horror stories, sex and profanity then I could not have taken on the cancer diagnosis the way that God allowed me to. I spiritually would not have been prepared. I was filled with my desire for God so there was no room for junk.

Like the food that we eat for our bodies effects our physical health so too is that true for what we take in through our ears ,eyes, and actions. They can all be an affront to us Spiritually and mentally. And if we are listening to our Holy Sprit( voice within ) then we would know this. We get convincted.

You know, If you look you can find good stuff that is funny. One night I was at a friends and he said hey this guy is on and he is a riot. So, I sat down and he put it on and within 5 minutes he was laughing and I did not get it. There were too many F bombs coming. So, he finally asked me as I was getting out of the chair to leave the room and I just said its not for me.

I always think what would Jesus do?

I just know that Jesus would not sit there either.
